Sounds like very early labour.

Take some paracetamol, do something to keep your mind off things and good luck!

LiliLil · 30/03/2023 11:09

Gave birth on Tuesday - mine went from exactly what you describe to baby being out in less than 5 hours! Good luck!

Sounds like early labour, if you're 40+5 then you are over full term so not pre term labour. Hope baby comes for you soon, best wishes 😊 x

Early labour can be really sore but you're doing great, try to not to be scared, you are going to meet baby at the end of this. Try and alternate between resting on left side or upright in a chair to gentle upright movement or having a warm bath. If you have a hot water bottle get your partner to help by putting that on your lower back when you get a contraction. I'm hoping things have moved on for you now since your last update 🤞
Once things really start picking up then go back to hospital and ask for epidural as soon as possible, if you feel like you need one. You may not need it but it's totally on how you are feeling. If exhausted it will give you the relief to sleep. Fingers crossed all goes well for you x

How did you get on OP?

had my
baby two hours ago… dialated to
10cm with epidural in my sleep! i wouldn’t have survived without codeine and g&a only did so much for a short period i was in too much pain at 2cm that they gave me a epidural then when really my hospital only gives at 4cm+ …. only problem is i’m still paralysed with 2nd tears and pain in back but oh well got my son!

They tried not giving me anything i was booked for a low risk water birth with g&a and the labour ward with all pain relief but they kept sending me home and saying they can only offer pain relief at 4cm… i screamed the place down so much at 1/2cm that they gave me the epidural then… lol was brilliant after that but now i cant walk but i got my son ♥️
