had sweep on monday, was 1cm dilated. now 2 weeks over (though according to lovely homebirth vbac midwives 2 weeks over is still within normal realms). last night lots of very strong braxton hicks, progressing to what felt like proper contractions about 45 mins apart, then fell asleep at 6.30am and nothing since then.

still got 6 days before scheduled c section.

another sweep tomorrow.

wondering if i am wasting my time here...

Lady, don't lose hope. I know it is miserable waiting and waiting, but your baby WILL come, promise!

LadySanders · 13/02/2008 12:29

my ds1 has been saying all week that the baby will arrive on val day... feel like i've got to the point where i can't believe he will ever be here... and at 42 weeks is he going to be a 12 pounder!!

Fingers crossed that your baby will be here soon !!! i was 10 days over my due date and felt ready to commit suicide so you have my sympathy's xxxxxxxx

Don't lose heart Ladysanders its going to be so worth the wait when you have a HBVBAC and you're cuddling your baby on Val Day. Ensure you keeping up with your OFP and spend time on all fours when baby is on the move to increase your chance of a favourable position which will help move the labour along once your conx start again. Good luck sending positive vibes your way

thank you thank you i know it will be worth it i just want to get there, its been such a long wait and i have this c section hanging over me, even though have negotiated well (i think) with hospital to get it delayed to 43 weeks...

Its amazing and so wonderful that you have got the backup of your midwife supporting you on this one, well done for standing your ground and getting them to back you. I feel very positive that this will help you achieve the birth you are aiming for, hugs

Good luck, LS. I am 9 days over (almost a week later than I ever got b4) and the anxiety of WHEN WILL THIS HAppen??, is pretty grinding, I know....

Shaggee · 13/02/2008 20:28

i went to 43 weeks, was a real drag but then had a vaginal delivery and a lovely healthy baby- it's worth the wait!

LadySanders - as we say to the kids 'it's round the next corner'

Chances are you will indeed be pushing your way through valentines day instead of sitting with your feet up eating chocolate (though if you get a move on you could do both)
