Is this slow labour? or braxton hicks

I’ve never really got braxton hicks but suddenly going past due date i’ve been getting tightening in my pelvis area it’s just like a very tight cramp kinda like period cramp but it’s not too painful and comes and goes it’s not really regular… wondering if this could be a sign of slow labour… or braxton hicks …

Sounds like braxton hicks to me. I had that for a few days with my first, maybe nearly a week, before my waters broke at 41 weeks, but even then it didn't accelerate much.
With my second I did have slow labour. Increasingly stronger contractions but not close enough together for me to think it was definitely labour. Then waters broke and that time everything got going then.

Dd had this last week at 34 weeks. Some "contractions" an hour apart, others only 15-20 min and she described it as being like period pain. I rang the maternity unit for advice and they said Braxton Hicks, but to call back if they started to come every ten min. They stopped after a few hours.
Hope things get moving for you soon!

Haven't they offered you an induction?

yeah they’re really not regular at all like 3-4 hours and then sometimes between 20 minutes but they’re not painful just uncomfortable/tight like period pain. thank you!

At our hospital birthing course, I'm sure they said they offered a sweep from 37 weeks, which surprised me.
