As the title says really.. how "tender" is ok and will it feel like this for the rest of the pregnancy? I am granted on "rupture" alert but it's not excruciating but it's uncomfortable. Not pleasant at all really.

Is this normal? I am in a small village so it's a midwife run care and she's only in once a week otherwise I phone "urgent advice" lines and I'd rather have my mind put at ease now!

Crace - It's more likely to be expanding ligaments than a scar rupture but you ought to get it checked out. Has your scar changed appearance at all. I'm going to get mine checked tomorrow (only one cs so far and only 16 weeks) because mine has got longer, redder and has three pinprick marks appearing where the stitches were. I look like I've been branded.

I was going to leave it but spoke to a midwife and she advised me that it should be checked within 72 hours regardless of whether it hurt or not (mine doesn't).

Thanks for the response, no scar appears the same - it's a burning feeling though and just a "Hi I'm here" kind of pain. It doesn't feel like a ligament pain (get those, those are lovely but I recognise them) it's definitely the scar and it's definitely noticeable. I just wonder if I am doing too much?

I suppose I should have it checked, it's 2 years old now so am trying not to be a wimp, I don't really think it's rupture - I am sure there is an explanation for it!

Best of luck with yours tomorrow that does sound worrying, bless you.

Two years is good. My DD is only 15 months. So mine is still settling. It is definitely worth having it checked, in particular you may need a scan to rule out placenta accreta, which is where the placenta attaches to the scar (and can even grow outside the uterus in some cases) more common with multiple caesarians. Alternatively it may just be that your baby has got his foot or head stuck against it and is pressing a lot.

You are not being a wimp. You'd be mortified if you found out in ten weeks time you needed an emergency crash section because your scar was breaking down and you'd ignored it! I'm also out in the sticks and we have to go to the nearest town to be patronised by hick doctors before being sent to a proper hospital but it's worth it to keep the baby safe.
