What was your second labour like?

I've heard time and time again that the second labour is quicker and more intense than the first. I have a one year old and am birthing soonish in a month's time. I just wanted to know what other mum's experiences were with their second. I'm trying to decide on whether a home birth would be more worth it if my labour will be quick.

@JoinTheClub966 For me, the time I’ve given was from first contraction to birth. DH said DC2 fired out like she was on a flume😂😂

Congratulations @Raz1564 a great result 💐 I was recommended a home birth for DC2 but in the end with DC2 my blood pressure shot up so it wasn’t considered safe. Tbh I was worried about being left with a mess 😂Would you recommend the home birth route to anyone considering it?

Congratulations @Raz1564 ! Well done you.

@JoinTheClub966 how would I know which part of labour was active labour? If you took the details from my actual maternity notes for my first baby my first stage of labour was 0 minutes, second stage 6 minutes and third stage 9 minutes, so total of 6 minutes labour and 9 for placenta. There is no information on what part would be considered active.

First come traction to birth, just over two hours. (First labour 32)

Oh there was no mess at all weirdly for me! But ofcourse everyone bleeds very differently.

It's such a personal choice ... I think it's amazing if it goes well but awful if you need a hospital transfer.

Both my labours were 72hrs. Second was the worst as contractions stopped and they had to induce so they were forced contractions.
no analgesia with either

I had an elective c section but I did go into labour as baby came early, it was alot faster, I got to 6cm in 2 hours where as my first birth it took around 12ish hours or more to get to that point I think
