Guys help! I'm 34 weeks 5 days pregnant.. and I'm having contractions or are they Braxton hicks have no clue... my back hurts though. I haven't broken any water that I know of but yesterday my pants were wet but (sorry) think it was sweat as was on a work call at home and made me nervous / was hot. What should I do. I'm not prepared for natural Labour my C section is at 38 weeks I literally have no clue what to look out for and when to do to the hospital... help 🥺

Call triage they will ask you some questions and may ask you to come in to check. Their number should be with your paperwork somewhere or in that folder they tell you to take everywhere if you are in UK x

I think waters tend to smell a bit sweet; so you could smell them?

If you are worried give your midwife a call; or if out of hours, call the maternity unit and they will have you in to assess

You need to phone the hospital, nobody can give you an answer here and if you are in labour you need to be in hospital and have steroid injections because the baby would be premature. Phone them and theyl ask you some questions and help you work out what’s going on.

Call your maternity triage or whatever number you have that’s 24/7, they can invite you in to check you over and see what’s happening.

Is the pain coming in waves or constant? My labour was all in my back/bum as baby was back to back.
If you're not sure though definitely call your maternity unit for advice. Especially if your c section is booked for any reason that would mean it would be dangerous for you to go into labour spontaneously (like placenta previa etc)
If you still have them, take in the pants you were wearing as they might be able to test them for amniotic fluid. Good luck!

Thanks guys - it was yesterday so pants went in the wash this morning 🙁
I'll wait a bit and see if these contractions pass - I'm actually in the south of France where we live but I've got a number to call. The baby seems to be turning and moving a lot which is uncomfortable too / does this sound normal?

You need to be assessed now. Your baby isn’t 37 weeks yet and if they arrived now they will be prem. This isn’t a time to sit and wait.

No one on here can tell you if you are or aren’t my lovely.

Ring the number you have for advice, only they can help you xx

iloveburmese3 · 10/03/2023 20:41

Ok thank you 🥺

Contractions and a change in babies movements means you need to call medical
professionals OP.
