Covid at 40 weeks

Has anyone given birth recently with covid? I've tested positive today at 40+2, mild symptoms but covid nonetheless.

I've called the midwife and they've decided I don't need blood thinners and remain low risk but not sure what this means for the MLU/waterbirth plans or if my boyfriend will be able to be with me (currently testing negative).

Any reassurance would be great!

I gave birth with COVID, was totally fine and no one was really that bothered. I got my own room on the postnatal ward too so if anything it was a bit of a bonus 😜

That does sound like a bonus - a bit of peace and quiet!

Just crossing our fingers and hoping my boyfriend doesn't get it as I don't think they'll let him in.

I think it depends where you live. In our trust they recommend you give birth on the main delivery suite and have continuous monitoring. Ours do allow partners to be present. Might be worth ringing your local unit and asking. Hope every goes well.

I would advise your partner not to test unless the hospital ask him too.

Found out I had covid an hour before DD was born. Had our own room for 2 days.
