Hi all, early pregnancy here and due to my history I want to go for a private wing at an NHS hospital and choose an obstetrician accordingly. All things considered I narrowed it down to UCLH and St Thomas and looking for recent information based on recent experience in these hospitals please. All the way from the pregnancy monitoring to actual birth to postnatal care please. Also any OBST recommendations would be hugely welcome. Thank you so much in advance.

I belive it's probably no use for you anymore, considering the date of your post! Unfortunately just saw it now but might help someone that looks for it in the future. I had my baby at St Thomas, private wing, end of 2021. My obstetrician was Mr. Kunde. I did the whole antenatal care on NHS and just the ELCS with him. I cannot fault him, very professional, everything went smoothly as it could and my scar is nothing short of amazing. The two nights spent on the private room were also very calm, relaxed and we enjoyed very much having privacy and comfort during those first moments with baby. Hope to have helped!

@FigAndOlive thank you so muchhhh for coming back! I decided to go with St Thomas in the end but I am with Dr Con Kelleher. I’m also now leaning towards an elective c-section due to anxiety, would you mind DM’ing me about your experience and why you decided on that/do you feel it was the right decision etc? Would be super helpful to help me make a bit of a more informed decision! Thank you a billion! ♥️

Yes of course. Happy to help if I can. I did end up having an elective c section and it was the best decision ever. Healed super quickly as well!
