39+4 today with baby #2 and...... Despite having had one before I am struggling to remember how labour all kicked off last time. I've had some period type back pains on and off for the last week but it hasn't progressed to anything else. Midwife was convinced I would go a touch early this time a baby has been head down since 27 weeks and I have had lots of pelvic pressure but looks like they were wrong and I'm going to term. Looking for others in the same position so we can support each other through/have a good moan with others in the same position (and for a reminder about kick off signs!)

38 weeks exactly! Me too - I can't really remember if I lost my mucus plug with DD and if it was noticeable 🤔 I basically can't remember anything and was quite shocked when my waters broke at 40+1 🤣

Hi OP, I am the other side of baby 2 (over a year now) but I wanted to lend my support as I remember so vividly the last leg of pregnancy waiting for labour to kick off was brutal. I went overdue (41 + 5), baby had also been head down for some time so I had been hoping for an earlier arrival! I also had intermittent period type pain that came and went a couple of evenings in the last few weeks. True labour for me I knew kicked off when it was period type pain that persisted, and became more intense and regular. All I can say is well done on coming so far, you’ve not got long to wait now! Try to keep calm and comfy and baby 2 will arrive soon when he or she is ready 🙂 x

Hi op. Sharing some support as currently in hospital after having DC2 last night. Labour this time around was very different for me. Last time it was long but this time I went from zero to 100 in a short space of time. Got to hospital at 7pm and he was born at 8.13pm. It felt very intense but I’m glad didn’t go on forever like last time. I did have a sweep on Thursday which clearly got things moving

I’m 39+1 and so fed up! Third baby. Last one went to 41+6 and I was so hoping for earlier this time… 0 signs of labour atm though! Hope it goes well for everyone 😊

@yyvonneb13 - def sounds like your body is getting ready! Hopefully. Not too long!

@Oopswediditagain23 - isnt it crazy how much you forget rom the first time - I almost feel like I'm trying o recall one thing that didn't happen to me! So strange! I'm he same about the mucus plug - I remember the fact it went last time but not alot more!

@Mumtumtastic you are a hero, the thought of going so far over is so unimaginable at the moment for me! I know I need to try and be more patient but I'm finding it tricky!

@Rosesandteacups - congrats on your baby last night! Glad to hear it was much quicker - I'm hoping for similar! How did you find the sweep? I've heard mixed things. I have one booked in for 15th if I haven't gone by then (when I will be 40+2)

@Zapx fingers crossed it all kicks off soon!

Once again a bit of a mixed bag of sleep last night, up and down like a yoyo, thinking maybe things were starting but they didn't! It's the element of surprise hate!
