first dd was 10lb4 and 51.5cm and second dd was 11lb1 and 59cm long - did anyone who had big babies and on number 3 go down in weight?!? I don't mean drastically but about 9lbs would be nice?!?!

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
TuttiFrutti · 07/02/2008 13:54

Yes, my first was 9lb8 and second 7lb8. It does happen.

CarGirl · 07/02/2008 13:59

yes mine went

7lb 6oz with first hubbie

then
10lb 6 at 42+2 - she was ridiculously long and didn't hit the height chart centiles until about 5 months old
9lb 2 at 40+1
9lb 10 at 42 weeks

so even allowing for the different lengths of pregnancy dd2 was by far the longest and heaviest.

8lbs 8 oz then 8lbs 11oz then 7lb 15oz - so you can hope!

becklespeckle · 07/02/2008 14:04

erm...

DC1 9 lbs 0.5 oz (DS)
DC2 9 lbs 4 oz (DS)
DC3 9 lbs 15 oz! (DD)

On the plus side, DD had the smallest head circumfrence so although the biggest by far, she was no worse to get out.

so what we're tentatively saying is that there is hope!

maybe if this one comes out at 12lb but is 60+cm long it might be a wee skinny malinky?!?

Definately hope dizzy, especially as your DD2 was a lot longer than your DD1!

dizzydixies · 07/02/2008 16:55

thanks beckles - I just remember dd1 was like a wee sumo and dd2 was just ridicliously long - both of them filled the cots in the matty wards and I looked like I'd been in there for months not just newly born!

I'm only 168cm so goodness only knows where 59cm came from!

dd1 8lb 8oz - exactly on due date
dd2 3lb 3oz - 35 weeks, IUGR (that's quite a drop!)
ds 7lb 10 oz - 1 week early

rozzyraspberry · 07/02/2008 17:23

ds1 6lbs 4
ds2 9lbs 3

ds3 - due in 2 days - according to midwives around 7/8 lbs. I know estimates could be way wrong but I have a gut feeling that this one is smaller as I've not been so uncomfortable.

dizietsma · 07/02/2008 18:52

Yup, happened to my mum-

DB1 was 9lbs
I was 8lbs
DB2 was 7lbs

It can happen!

MrsMattie · 07/02/2008 20:11

Good friend just had her fourth child

DS1 9 lbs 13 oz - 41 weeks
DD1 7lbs 8 oz - 38 weeks
DS2 10 lbs 11 oz - 40 weeks
DD2 7 lbs exactly - 40 weeks

they don't always get bigger

dizzydixies · 07/02/2008 20:45

thank you all!!!!!

moderate excercise and sensible eating is the way forward, with a few treats here and there!!
