33 weeks transverse

Just had my 33 week growth scan and baby has now gone transverse. Just wondered if anyone had any experience of this? Did baby turn and when?
If not, when did they make the decision to give you a C-section and at how many weeks?

I don’t have experience with this exactly but baby was transverse at 28 and head down at 30. I hope she still is, I have a scan next week.

the midwife at the time told me there are exercises I can do if it’s still transverse, but she didn’t tell me what then.

I think you can Google it. Also look on spinning babies website, they might have something.

it’s still early days at 33, but you could try the ex. Good luck

Yes, mine turned by 36 weeks.

You can always try some spinning babies x

Still plenty of time. My baby was transverse up to around 36 weeks, then breech, now head down at due date. Check YouTube videos for exercises you can do to encourage them to move. I didn’t do anything they just moved.

My baby was transverse at 36 weeks I had to come back the following week to see if he had gone head down, luckily he had or I'd have been admitted to hospital until 39 weeks! I wouldn't worry though you have plenty of time yet.

This was my experience too 🙂

My 1st was standing breech CSec.
2nd was Transverse all the way through.
Delivered by C-Sec at 37 weeks
(15 yrs ago, rural hosp decided not to attempt to'turn' the baby manually)
Hopefully your baby will turn (I think only 1% are Transverse from 38 wks on?) but if not then you'll have a Csec which will at least get baby out safely for both
Good luck x

Mine was transverse. Was admitted to hospital for a week before the C section, as remained transverse.

30w - head down.
32w - breech
34w - head down

I don't think you need to worry quite yet xx

Nancy155 · 01/02/2023 14:31

Great thank you! That’s what I’m hoping 🙂

I didn't even notice she'd turned either time! Which is crazy considering I'm apparently growing a mega sized baby. Xx

My baby was transverse at 32 week growth scan, was head down a week later and has stayed there! They don’t tend to worry or intervene until 36 weeks I think, so you have some time. Look a spinning babies website, some great exercises on there to get baby moving ☺️

x

Transverse at 36 weeks. A decision was made just before I was 37 weeks to book a planned c-section for 39 weeks. Baby never did turn.

MrsSamR · 01/02/2023 17:13

My first daughter was breech from 28 weeks. Tried all of the spinning babies methods to turn her to no avail. At my additional 36 week scan they offered me an ECV to try and turn her which I declined so they booked me in for a c-section at 39 weeks. She decided to break my waters 3 days before the planned section date so had to get to the hospital sharpish!
