Hi
I had my second 6 months ago but am still struggling with her and my 1st birth. The first was an emergency section under general anaesthetic after getting to 10cm and his heart rate dropping dramatically. I think he was back to back so the pushing stage would have been long and I didn’t have the time to allow that.
the second I planned an elective section but didn’t want one (freaked myself out with bad birth stories) and ended up cancelling and rebooking and then going into early labour the day before, going in to get checked out and they were happy to do the balloon catheter to push me along, ended up getting to only 3cm but babies heart rate was dropping again but this time also going too high so they said another emergency section. this time with a spinal.
I am waiting on a birth debrief for both births to see why I had to have sections when other people (friends) have told me the same thing happened to them and it ended up fine vaginally (I assume it wasn’t the same but it’s hard when your friends tell you you were duped into a c section).
the thing is, I really wanted a vbac, and still do and am keen for our third (not for a few years please) to try for this but I just wanted to hear of any other stories of this.
I’m a rational person so the fact I feel so crappy about my sections really confuses me.
