Northampton or Milton Keynes maternity unit?

Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone has had experience of Northampton General or Milton Keynes maternity services recently and would give me their opinion on what they thought was best?

I gave birth to our son in Northampton General in Jan 2022 and it was horrendous. Without going into the details, our son arrived safely (although I'm not sure how) after 25 hours of labour and an emergency c section. It was a fairly traumatic experience for me and have been having private therapy to try to resolve my trauma and anxiety about another birth.

We are trying for another baby but I think until I have come to terms with doing it again, I will struggle to get pregnant.

I would plan to have a c section next time round to avoid a lot of the mistakes that happened last time.

Has anyone else been through this and can give me their experiences of a planned c section in either hospital?

Thank you in advance :)

I have birth at Bedford and they were wonderful, so so lovely. I had a pool in the room which I used until 6cm, I had two midwives with me all the way through and I felt the care was great. Really recommend!

I would be careful suggesting that @Toddlerteaplease some women find these useful, some find them retraumatising. Some trusts use these debriefings to try to dissuade women from going through formal complaint processes, often they are trying to avoid litigation by blaming the woman or justifying traumatic procedures. Like marking their own homework.

Getting your notes from the hospital and taking to them to an independent midwife or trauma-trained doula would be a more careful option. X

@mumoffourminimes, I didn't realise that. I thought they were generally regarded as a good thing to do.
