How long were your 3rd labours?

mummyp1gs · 13/01/2023 07:49

First child was 33 hours from first twinge to emcs at 10cm.

Second child was vbac - 5 hours from first twinge to birth.

What were the lengths of your labours if you've had 3 (or more!).

My third labour was 4 hours from first twinge

seaduck · 13/01/2023 08:03

My third was about 8 hours first twinge to birth, slower than my 2nd which was 5 and same as 1st (also 8 hours)

Thelonelychicken · 13/01/2023 08:03

1st was 7 hours
2nd was 5 hours
3rd was 1 hour that one hurt but no tears or anything

stormelf · 13/01/2023 08:04

First was 18 hours from waters breaking (first sign of labour) to birth

Second was 1.5 hours from first twinge to birth

Third was under 1 hour (waters broken in hospital after sweep - was meant to be induced as baby was measuring very small)

Binfire · 13/01/2023 08:07

About 3hrs for my 3rd- much bigger baby nearly 10lb
2nd baby 2hrs- tiny baby 5lb 12
1st baby 13hrs average size 8lb

16 minutes from active labour to baby on chest. It was an induction so I probably had an hour of contractions to get me 4cm.

eleven2023 · 13/01/2023 14:30

12 hours first
11 hours second
2 1/2 hours 3rd
4 hours 4th

My third for my smallest baby was long, ended up in an emergency c section due to being transverse. Midwife said I wasn’t pushing hard enough, could see baby’s head..it wasn’t her head it was her back, baby ended up in incubator being monitored and I was in hdu overnight having a blood transfusion. My 1st was back to back so long labour and had a reaction to the epidural , my second about 5 hours was really good with a fantastic trainee midwife. If I had my 3rd baby as my first I would not have had anymore!

I can't remember what time my first contraction was, but I was moved to the labour ward at 12.30 and was 3 cm. Dc3 was born just over an hour later at 1.37

AWomanKnows · 13/01/2023 15:08

3.5 hours

1.5 hours and absolutely amazing, I was so in tune with my body. It was an incredible experience.

PinkButtercups · 13/01/2023 15:11

My first was about 18-20 hours (vaginal)
My twins were 6 hours which was also a vaginal birth. My boy twin is my 3rd child and he arrived 8 minutes after his sister. Does that count? 🤣

1st 17 hours
2nd, 3 and 4th just under 3 hours each.

WarrickDavisAsPlates · 13/01/2023 15:37

1st labour- about 30 hours, 8 mins of pushing.

2nd labour (7 years after the first which I think makes a difference) about a week from first noticeable contraction to birth, had to be induced as baby was getting distressed. 1 hour of pushing.

3rd labour (2 years after the 2nd)- about 3 hours from first twinge to birth but the contractions didn't start hurting until about 5 mins before the waters went (babies head came out with the waters) luckily DC1 managed to contact DH and the midwives and an ambulance. Dh delivered the baby in our bathroom 10 mins after the waters went.
