Hi, Im due tomoz, but yesterday think i had a show, but not sure as there was no blood or pink tinge present. It was very white in colour and think and stringy and was quite slimy also. Didnt ring MW, didnt want to make a fuss, so thought id pick your brains, any ideas welcome, cheers!xxxxx

When I had a show with DS3 the first bit that came out was exactly as you described. Over the next 12hrs more of the plug came away and it got progressively more pink/bloody. I had DS3 the following day.

Think the amount of plug that comes out, and the speed varies a LOT though, and some women have a show and it can be 2/3 weeks before labour commences

oh dont say 2 or 3 weeks please!! lol, i defo cant wait any longer! MW said she will give me a sweep if on the 12thfeb if i dont go in labour before hand, but have heard thats quite uncomfortable, so keeping my fingers crossed it will happen naturally

my initial show was like that with both of mine. with dd1 it was a few days before and with dd2 it was the early stages of labour. (it looked a bit like the jelly you get in pork pies [it put me off them for life]) i had a proper blood tinged one when my waters went with both though

My show was very bloody - didn't appear until I was 5 cm dilated. Fortunately, I was already at the hospital so I could get immediate reassurance that something wasn't wrong! I had only read/heard at antenatal classes that shows are pink.

Sounds gross but mine was like a piece of old grey meat! Didn't realise it was a show until I had DD 2 days later (4 weeks early). No blood at all-just fell out in the shower (sorry-TMI!)

My shows were different each time (4), varying in colour and quantity. Had lots of blood with #4, whereas #3 was definately porkpie like! All born and varying times after show, longest was 5days and shortest was born 3 hours after show.

Had a sweep with three of mine, no more uncomfortable than a smear test really. Much better than being induced chemically.
