Still hurts when I pee four weeks later

Do people think it’s normal for it to still hurt when I pee almost five weeks after giving birth?
Had a vaginal delivery with episiotomy and ventouse/suction. Doctor said incision was second degree and also gave me a stitch near my urethra. Can’t see any stitches when I look now, just bruising.
I’m applying fucidin to a red area near episiotomy on rec of GP - who I saw because it was unbearable to have a bowel movement - so I’m on laxatives etc.
But it still just stings really badly when I pee, is that normal? I have diclefenac from doctor but should I really be taking that for pain peeing? I find the pain is always midday and later so wonder is it being out and about too much.

Certainly not my experience and doesn’t sound normal. After my first birth I thought I felt swollen down there so got the GP to have a look. Maybe call them after the bank holidays for a quick exam? Does pouring water as you pee help at all?

No that does not sound normal at all, I wonder if you have something else going on.

i was in horrendous pain for about 2/3 months after having a similar birth to the point it hurt to sit down but I don’t remember any specific pain when I peed. I think you need checking again. You may have an infection that needs antibiotics.

I had a similar birth first time round and I'd say that it isn't normal to hurt peeing that far on. I had quite a few infections after so might be worth getting that ruled out

I had similar with forceps and an episiotomy, mine was infected and that's why it stung. Until my infection cleared up I found stood up hovering over the toilet minimised the wee getting into the wound and stopped it burning. Grim, but it worked for me. Hope you heal up soon - definitely visit the GP for a check!

Are you breast feeding OP? The associated hormonal changes can use soreness and redness in your vulva, as well as it stinging to wee.

Yes I am, I didn’t know this - thanks for the info.

Stinging gone today and wondering was it all the sitting down and taking it easy 🙄 but will follow up with GP, thanks to all for the advice

Worth a google of "Lactational atrophic vulvovaginitis" to see if it matches up. GPs rarely aware of the issue.
