Obstetrician recommendations The Portland

Hello I am looking for an obstetrician at The Portland as I will need an elective c-section and I would like to know if anyone has had one here and if you would recommend your consultant. I have researched a couple but I'm still not sure. Ideally I would like safe delivery, a minimal scar, and good healing time. I have anxiety, so someone who has good bedside manner is quite important.
Mr Christian Barnick
Mr Etienne Horner
Mr Patrick O'brien

If you have experience with any others I would also be very interested to hear from you. Thank you!

I highly recommend Dr Nicola Lack Consultant Obstetrician who was my doctor at UCLH. Very caring and supportive. She also works at Portland.

Congratulations on your pregnancy. I have had Dr Keith Duncan though know Barnick is amazing too, very honest.

Also interested to follow this, Christian Barnick was somebody I am considering second time round. I had a c section and the Portland also. I don’t want to use my previous obstetrician although he was great on the day, he was impossible to get hold of throughout my pregnancy (despite paying him high fees) and his bedside manner was really bad - to the point I wanted to change obstetrician halfway through! My husband even complained when I was really sick and all emails went ignored and they ignored him too!

My consultant (Dr Tom Prior) doesn't work at the Portland, but Dr Lorin Lakasing and Dr Ian Chilcott both do and they came highly recommend by friends of mine who were patients.

Hello, I wanted to update this thread to say I went with Patrick O'Brien in the end for my ELCS and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him. Patrick was easily contactable at all times, extremely approachable, and respected my birth plan wishes. My c-section scar is extremely neat/minimal and 2 weeks on I'm not on any medication for the pain. My baby's birth was a beautiful experience and I believe this was due to Patrick and the staff at The Portland.
