Got a GTT booked this week at 34w. Already started packing hospital bag however I'm conscious if results come back and I have got gestational diabetes many of the snacks suggested on these groups are probably not suitable- jelly babies, lucozade, glucose tablets etc.
If you have/had GD what snacks did you take?
May end up as a planned CS yet so I will enjoy my Jaffa cakes on the postnatal ward but just trying to be organised.

It's been, oh my, nearly 5 years since I was doing this but I took nature valley high protein chocolate and peanut bars.

Whatever you have been eating as snacks before then. Nature Valley Protein bars are good. Nuts if you like them. Veggie crisps or small packets of normal crisps. Nairn’s biscuits are relatively low carb. If you know when you’re going in (eg induction) you could bake something tasty from the UKGD website. UKGD website also has a page with a list of recommended snacks.

With drinks you are quite limited with GD. There are sugar free soft drinks and versions of lucazade but they only provide caffeine and artificial sweeteners and flavours which I preferred to avoid.

Didn’t eat anything while in labour, although took loads! Useful for after though!
