Period or lochia?

I had DS 1 month ago via ELCS. My bleeding wasn’t that bad at all, it seemed to have tailed off a week ago. However, there’s bright red bleeding since this morning. I did have cramps yesterday which kind of felt like my period is about to start? But the cramps went away, I don’t have cramps at all right now but I’m bleeding and it’s not light, but it’s not too heavy either. I’m breastfeeding baby so I’m confused. However I’m mixed feeding, because I’ve had problems with latch and then I got bad mastitis and a high fever. Does this sound like my period or lochia bleeding though because I’m really confused?

If it’s within 6 weeks of birth it’s still classed as postpartum bleeding, so if baby was only born a month ago that’s what this is. But if you’re not exclusively breastfeeding from the source your period could come back any time.

To add - PP bleeding can be on and off, so stopping and coming back isn’t unusual

I had lochia on and off for about 12 weeks. At first I didn't know if it was lochia or a period but I noticed it would start off bright red but then turn pink and only last a couple of days. It is difficult to tell and confusing though.
