Sex after stitches🤣

Bit graphic but how long after did you all have sex after birth stitches 🤣

Six weeks. I had to have some stiches removed manually, even though they were supposedly dissolvable sutures. I think the fact that the nurse removed them and assured me the area was fine helped from a psychological point of view. There's that worry with sex about stretching the skin too much after tear/episiotomy, but that area heals surprisingly quickly.

About 4 months. Just didn’t feel healed or ready until then. I personally would wait till after the 6 week check, just so you know everything ok.

After the six week check, but can’t remember how long. It’s like losing your virginity all over agin - the apprehension, that is. Will it hurt? I have never found the first time after stitches enjoyable, more a necessity to get back on the horse 😂

With my first I was pregnant again within 8 weeks so can't have been that long 😂
And with 2nd I had to have an episiotomy and that was a much longer recovery, so about 3 months I think.

5 weeks, it was DH's birthday (just to be clear it was 100% my choice to do it then)

It was about the same after DC2 even though I had no stitches that time.

6 months !! But it was a bit mind over matter by that stage. I also had a lot of internal stitches which really freaked me out. If I’d have really wanted to before 6 months i definitely could have done but I just genuinely didn’t feel mentally ready.
