Tear Pain

I suffered a third-degree tear (3a) 14 months ago. It healed well and was fine for months but has suddenly started aching again for no apparent reason. My mum claims that this is just how old injuries feel when the weather turns cold...has anyone had this experience or can offer any advice?

I had an episiotomy with DC1 five years ago and still get the odd ache from it, especially when I’m hormonal and on my period. I’d say if it’s just an ache and not an acute pain it may just be scar tissue pain. If it’s an acute pain that’s causing genuine discomfort I’d get it checked out. But I’d say from experience it’s quite normal to get occasional aches from tears and cuts from childbirth. All part of the fun ey!!!
