Spontaneous labour overdue??

Looking for people's experiences, im now 9 days over with my first, twice my midwife has attempted a sweep but my cervix was closed. Last week it was in the right position but long and firmly shut, today she said its much shorted but still closed. I've been booked in for induction on Friday but been warned that it could be pushed back if they don't have space for me.

Has anyone been in a similar position (more than a week over, cervix still closed) and gone into labour that week?

I'm so frustrated with it all I've just sat in my car outside the midwife's and cried which I know isn't helpful 😑

It's the most frustrating time when you go over! I was only a day over but a friend of mine went over with her dc1 and dc2 and exactly 42 weeks with both.

I was thirteen days overdue on my first. I honestly thought he would never come.
My mother was overdue with all of us and my sister was two weeks overdue with hers.
Some of us are meant to have longer pregnancies I think.
It can happen for you.
