Early labour or wishful thinking?

I'm 12 days overdue with my first baby and holding out for labour as I really don't want an induction.

Last night I woke up about 3am with bad lower backache and period like pains, had a few very mild contraction feeling things. Went back to sleep, woke up again 5.30 with the same. I thought labour was starting and over time the contractions would get stronger and more regular.

Went back to sleep, woke up at 7 and nothing. Still have back pain but no contractions. Is this early labour or am I just imagining it because I'm so hoping to avoid induction?

It sounds like it could be the start!! How have things been going since?

I’m 40+4 and I also woke up this morning at 3 with mild contractions coming every 10 minutes, then every 5 until 7am. Since getting up for the day they’ve been quite irregular but have ramped up in intensity. I’ve just lost a bit of my mucus plug so I’m hoping things ramp up more this evening.

Haven't had any contractions at all today unfortunately. Hopefully things get going again tonight. Good luck with yours hopefully you'll meet your baby soon!
