Physio after c-section

Hello

I had an ELCS 4 weeks ago for my DS. It is my second baby, DD arrived via ventouse four years ago so this is my first c-section experience.

For anyone who has had one before, at one point did you start any kind of postnatal physio? I suffered from terrible SPD this pregnancy and coupled with the heatwave I barely moved at all for at least 4 months before DS arrived. I also wasn’t able to lift anything either. My pelvis was a complete mess and total agony all the time. As a result my core strength was totally wrecked even before the section. Now I’ve had the section I’m even less strong and feel very physically weak.

I'm very eager to see a physio in some capacity to help ease myself back into things. I’m not someone who is normally a total fitness fanatic so I’m not looking to get a six pack back or anything (ha!) but just want explore ways to gradually and safely rebuild core strength. Fitness wise I’m building up my walking every day and once I’m back to health I’ll be walking a lot more.

I have my 8 week check with the GP booked so will also ask whilst I’m there but I’m curious if others experience and any recommendations you may have.

thank you!
