Belly support wrap after a caesarean

Has anyone worn one of these and would you recommend one? I am having a planned caesarean after a natural birth that I made a bad recovery from. Does it also support your hips as I have a lot of hip pain at the moment and I struggled this for a long time after my son was born.

Yes 100%. I bought a belly wrap while I was pregnant (not expecting to have a c section and in the vain hope that “belly binding” might actually help my stomach flatten after birth - ha!) I can’t even remember why I first put it on, I think I’d been brainwashed by YouTube videos on the supposed miracles of stomach binding. It made an immediate improvement to my mobility and even pain after the section, which I had not been expecting at all. It seems quite counterintuitive putting something uncomfortable and tight on a surgical scar but I think the pressure really helps. I’m not sure whether brand names are allowed on here but I had a stretchy Velcro binder by a well known brand (plus an extender for the first couple of weeks).

Sorry though - I can’t comment on hip pain.

Hi @ElephantGrey101 yes, I used both a Belly Bandit belly wrap and a Belly Bandit hip bandit after my first caesarean in 2019. The hip bandit was worn while pregnant as bump support too. Really helped me feel supported and I went back to my pre-pregnancy hip size too! I tended to wear them when I went out of the house as they weren't that comfortable to sit down in.

Will be using them both again at the end of the week after caesarean number 2.

Thank you I will look into getting those. The hip bandit sound good as that is where I need more support

I used a mummaway bamboo wrap and I really can say it helped massively with my recovery! Meant I could move about without the feeling of your tummy about to fall out.
Next section in just over 2 weeks I've packed mine ready!
Also pack the fibregel and peppermint tea.... You don't want to be getting constipated or gassy!

Do some reading first. I did and found things that said the pressure from the belly binder can put pressure on your pelvic floor etc and cause weakening and prolapse. Opted out. I wore some c sec pants that apply a small amount of pressure.
