Hi all.

I'm due to be induced tomorrow at 37 weeks due to my daughter growing on the 1st centile and weight not climbing. I was induced 3 years ago with my first for the same reason and I had 2 pessarys 6 hours apart then my waters broken at 3cm; my daughter was born 2 hours later 😳. It was super quick but scary.

I'm wondering if anyone has experience of how a second Induction went, did you need the drip if you didn't the previous time? Midwives keep telling me this will be even quicker which terrified me! Also had to have manual placenta removal last time in theatre which I really do not want again.

Good luck mama, you've got this!
Your bodies done it before, but it doesn't mean it'll be quicker etc it all depends how your body progresses and how ready for labour it is before they start the process. Don't panic, you'll be meeting baby soon 🥰

Best of luck for today.

I did need the drip a second time. But then I needed it the first time too. I think my body just doesn't like going into early labour. Labour was expected to be quicker, but sadly baby had other ideas regarding his positioning. I wound up needing a C-section after only 3cm (2 to 5cm) progress in 16 hours.

I can't speak for the placenta. It took a very long time to come out with my first. I should have gone to theatre for a manual removal, but a C-section went ahead of me, and it finally came out. During the C-section nobody mentioned anything. I didn't lose much blood, and post-partum bleeding was pretty minimal, so I assume it came out easily.

sorry not much help but I was due to start a second induction. They wouldn’t use the pessary again as they said I had had it before they use something different. I can’t remember now what it was but just a heads up it may start differently to before. Unfortunately as I was on the monitor before they started me off it became apparent baby had moved sideways and so needed an emergency c section.

best of luck!xx
