Hi there,

I had an emergency c section 2 weeks ago, haven't had a check up yet as baby has been in hospital. I will arrange gp check up today but wanted to ask MN about their experiences.

I have one end of the scar where there is some sensation sensitivity and it feels like there isa firm bit under the scar. The rest of it feels fine. I have some numbness around the scar but then normal sensation around it on one half and at the other side there is a strip of skin above that feels like it has been burned or scalded. And spots of numbness.

Is this just a bit of nerve damage? Anything else I might ask the gp or I would expect them to follow up with?

The midwives said they hadn't come across this before so there is a risk my gp will say the same and just shrug. Any advice welcomed!

Completely normal I think op and just where you've been sewn up and body is healing!

I'm 2 years postpartum (now 16wks with my second) and I still have no sensation between my belly button and scar - completely numb! Very weird!
