Braxton Hicks or real thing??

So.... Last 2 days I've been losing mucus plug in pieces(I think). I've just started getting contractions about 45 mins ago. I've had 5 so far. I'm not sure if they're Braxton Hicks or the real thing??? They aren't overly painful but everytime I get one there's lots of pressure down below. Feels like I need a poo and feels as though baby is being pushed down. I also have dull ache in lower back.
I guess time will tell on this!

How are you getting on OP? Honestly your description could be either! BH don't tend to be painful, just uncomfortable and tight, but early contractions can go on for a long time and start and stop :(

Sounds like braxton hicks but could turn into labour. Hope your ok!!

The contractions have been on and off all night. At one point they got stronger so I think it might be the start of something. They've just started up again so we will see what happens ☺️

Yay!! Get the oxytocin flowing to encourage the contractions :)

Have you tried timing them? (Sorry if that's obvious)

Everyone tried to convince me that I was having BH but they were as regular as clockwork and I was 5 cm dilated.
