A moan about pre labour

Why? Why do you have to get alllllll these signs that things are starting for it all to just....stop. Again and again and again! For 3 full days now ive had a bloody show in the morning with regular, painful tightenings building up through the evening. And every time I go to bed thinking "best get some rest incase it progresses" then i wake up STILL PREGNANT and very much not in labour 🙃. It also means I'm wary of going to far away from home incase it all kicks off. Hoping it means a quicker actual birth than the 3 day ordeal with my first though 🤞

Omg poor thing, same over here 39+1weeks pregnant with my 3rd and had a couple of false labour moments. How many weeks are u?
Its crazy because my contractions are actually really painfull and last for about 1:15min for hoourrsss sometimes even till 4am which makes you think its time.

I found it got worse with each child (pre labour) with third I was having contractions from about 28 weeks😩 but on plus side labour was quicker,

I had the same pre-labour, and my first DC was a 3 day affair too!
However DS was born 2 weeks ago, and after 3 days of stop/starting pre-labour (bloody show, upset stomach and what felt like Braxton Hicks) I had a ridiculously fast less than 2 hour labour from the first real contraction to him being in my arms. Only made it to the hospital with 10 minutes to spare and just about had time to take off my knickers!
So maybe if your like me it's your body preparing in the background and so it wont be wasted as it will make the main event go alot quicker!

I've had two sweeps this week, regular tightenings on and off since 32 weeks, so many times I've thought things are on there way, only to be like you and have it all calm down by the time I'm in bed. 38+4 and being induced on Tuesday. First labour I had none of this, no signs until it all kicked off at 40+5, feel like my body is teasing me.

I the exact same as you, my
First labour was two days.. waters broke and I gave birth two days later!!

BUT

with my second I kept having BH! For two weeks before I actually gave birth, the good part for me was I was so sick of the bh I gave up and just carried on with my usual days, while getting ready 8 days past my due date my waters broke at 11 in the morning, I got told to go to hospital as waters were brown, baby had been pooing inside his waters. The good part was no contractions till 6.15 at night, and I gave birth at 6.59 no time for pain relief as it was so fast, but I had zero stitches and was up and walking around straight after, so hopefully it's your body preparing like mine was!! Good luck and all the best x

Thanks for your stories! It helped knowing I wasn't alone haha. Baby was born 2 days after I posted and apparently all the pre labour stuff did a lot to help and active labour and pushing was only 4 hours!
