silly question am I in labour?

I am 40 wks + 3 with first baby have been gtting pains since 3.30 this morning now every 7-10 mins but not had a show. The pain is very low down and hardly in my bump at all, is this proper labour? thanks for any advice

all different was 7 mins but has now been 12
