Should I see someone?

I am almost 4 weeks post partum and suffered a 3rd degree tear. All seems to be going well but yesterday I went with my DH and DC1 to the playpark and I think I overdid it. I was quite achey but not badand came home and have been resting ever since. Last night when I got up to feed DS I think I maybe moved in the wrong way? And felt a gush of liquid. At first I thought it was pee but I didn't need the toilet so went to check and realised I was bleeding a little (maybe about the size of 2x 50p on my pjs). I thought it was just after birth bleeding although I haven't needed a towel for a few days coming on a week. I bled a little through the night, probably the amount like at the very end of a period so not much so today I got a mirror and looked and i think that the blood is coming from my tear rather than just normal PP blood. I'm not overly concerned but just wondering if I should see someone or just see if it heals up again? It stings a little when I pee but nothing too dramatic....

Please get it checked if you are concerned. It took YEARS for mine to heal properly.

Yes get it checked, tears can take a while to heal but you want to make sure there is no infection, or that you don’t need further stitching.

@PronounMadness @SirVixofVixHall should I call the GP or check back in with the midwife even though I've been discharged?

I would ring the ward and ask their advice.

Female GP. (Although maybe not the one that told me I should just “grin and bear it” when even climbing too many steps caused my scar to split.)

@PronounMadness honestly sometimes I don't know why people become doctors. I'm sorry you had to deal with that x
