Hi,

ive been offered to play my own music so putting together a playlist of lovely songs. A bit random but if anyone did this how far in to the playlist was your baby born?

im sure I’ll zone it out on the day but there are a few songs I’d like the baby to actually be born to, anyone have any idea how far in to their playlist they got?

TIA

You can always fast forward when the time is near - the surgeon/anaesthetist will be able to say.

We played our wedding Breakfast playlist as its special to us. It has some cheeky tracks that we dropped in there that aren’t so well known but make us laugh. They put the music on once we were in theatre and Baby was born about 15 minutes into the ELCS. DS ended up being born to Pulp “babies” which Is a bit inappropriate but always makes me smile when I think about it!

Oh 15 mins sounds great and also a bit intimidating, that’s so soon!!

Grin Not quite. In my first labour playlist it was all big power ballads and stuff like Unstoppable by Sia, except that this time around someone is doing all the work for me so I think I might need to remove some of those off there

Prepare more than you think you need. After the prep was done and the curtain went up my baby was born 90 seconds into the actual operation so if you started it at the start of the op you’d only have needed one song 🤣 but if you started it from sitting on the bed you’d have needed a lot more. They numbed me (all done and lying on the bed within 5 minutes) but then realised the main doctor doing the op wasn’t there and couldn’t be found. I lay on the bed for over 20 minutes while they phoned round the hospital trying to find him. I have no idea how long it actually was until he appeared because I was just so relieved the spinal was done and was fine that I didn’t care about anything after that😂 I would have needed a lot of songs though!
