im booked in for an induction next week not ideal but i can't continue feeling like poo all the time getting very snappy and depressed. Im term plus 5 now and had my second sweep yesterday but feeling nothing yet. Apparently im 4cms dialated and my membranes are bulging. My cervix is soft so my body is ready to go. Babies head isnt engaged and is bobbing in and out of my pelvis causing me alot of pain the midwife says i need some contraction to get things moving any suggestions.....

I had loads of braxton hicks before xmas for 2 wks and now im not so much as getting a twinge its so frustrating.

go for a walk

I'm in the same boat - nothing happening despite long walks, sex, pinapple, raspeberry leaf tea etc

Could try reflexology - there is a pressure point just above your ankle (about 3 fingers width) on inside of your leg that is v sensitive when pregnant - massage on there is supposed to help in labour.

Also sounds mad - but if you have a breast pump then have a go - can stimulate oxytocin i think which helps things - prob about 10 mins each side. I tried this when 10 days over with no 2 and finally went into labour but could have been a complete coincidence as all the other tricks did not work! If no pump then can try manual nipple tweaking or ask dp to oblige!

Have you tried nipple stimulation? Otherwise a good brisk walk did the job for me

Get a birth ball if you haven't already and do some gentle bouncing on it; this will encourage the head to descend and engage properly. And get twiddling those nipples

4cms, bulging membranes, soft cervix - I wouldn't turn my back on you once those contractions start

a couple of good coughs in the delivery room and baby will fly out
seriously, you are so good to go, i doubt you would need much help to get you going.. if anything.. hope you are holding your baby soon x
