So swollen 4 weeks postpartum!

I gave birth 4 weeks ago & my ankles are so swollen. They puffed up horrendously after birth, but then they went down-but they’ve been so swollen on and off the past couple of weeks. My stomach also seems to still be really bloated, and I’m getting what feels like period pains on and off.
Everything I read online says swollen ankles should go down in a week or two, is anyone else really puffy for longer? I didn’t have any swelling in Pregnancy at all!

How are things now @Fluffygreenslippers? Is the swelling going down at all?

Mine were the same - i went to the GP and got my BP checked because i had pregnancy induced hypertension and was taking labetalol so was very concerned that my BP might be out of control again. Basically in the end everything was fine but GP did some bloods and just made sure for me. Mine didn't go down until about 4 months post partum. It wasn't great. I'd really recommend seeing if you can get it checked out even if just for peace of mind.

It goes away if I put my legs up but then comes back. I wonder if I could be dehydrated, although I’m drinking plenty of water. Don’t know what’s going on really. :S I suspect I am extremely anaemic and I wonder if it’s to do with that.

Sounds like you have 2 good reasons to speak to your GP Flowers
