safe wait time for VBAC

Hi everyone,

I'm waiting to discuss my birth plan with my consultant and am already full of questions... I had a c-section in March 2021 when I gave birth to my twin daughters very prematurely who sadly did not survive. 8 months later I fell pregnant again and I'm currently 31 weeks. I was told by my Obgyn that I could in principle go for a VBAC assuming baby in the right position etc. But I really have no idea whether a VBAC will be advised or not by my hospital.

Given my history I want to go for the safest option possible to deliver this baby and I can't work out whether the potential risk of uterus rupture with a VBAC is greater than the potential risk of e.g. placental complications like placenta previa, that might arise with a third c section (assuming I go on to have another baby after this one). I'm finding it very difficult to juggle making the best decision for this pregnancy vs making the best decision for myself in the future.

I would be grateful to hear your thoughts.

Im so sorry for your loss ❤️

In my experience they advise you to wait 12 months before conceiving to have a VBAC - I tried for one with a 22 month gap but after labouring for 4 days I accepted another C section, which was calm and lovely.

I'm now about to have a 3rd section a few years later.
