I had a planned c section due to size worries from doctors with DS1 he was 9lb 4oz at 39weeks 4 days!

Pregnant again and wondering what VBAC is like? I would like options. I mentioned to my midwife briefly who said they’d probably induce me at 37 weeks due to babies potential size (if I was to deliver vaginally) and to monitor me closely as there is a risk of uterine rupture

Please tell me your VBAC experiences I really want to consider it I’m just scared of potential uterine rupture

I have friends who have gone down this route and had good experiences - just ensure that your midwife / consultant is experienced with VBAC and fully aware of your past section

I would choose vbac if I have the choice to in the future (no plans for baby 2 just yet though!)

I tried for a VBAC but ended up with a second c-section. In my case Labour wasn’t progressing and I had pain in my scar which they were worried about. The surgeon said the scar wall was very thin so the c section had been the right call.
I really didn’t want another section, as my first was traumatic, but I had been told there was a 50/50 chance so I had prepared myself and actually it was fine.
In your place I would choose an elective section if this baby is also very big. My close friend had significant birth damage after giving birth to a large baby with forceps when she should have been given a c-section.
