Sweep before induction

I am due to be induced next week at 37 weeks due to pre eclampsia - I'm seeing my midwife 3 days before my induction date.

If I ask do you think she would do be a sweep even though I would only be 36+4? I'm just keen to avoid a long induction and if I can get things moving on my own even if it means they can break my waters on next week without the need of a pessary?

Anyone had a sweep that early before?

I'm currently in hospital due to an induction which started yesterday at 36+6, I had a sweep at 36+4 to try and get things going before I was induced. Ask, the worst they'll say is no!

I hope things get moving quickly for you.
Thank you I'm hoping they say yes!

All you can do is ask. Worst she can do is say no. She can have a look, but the likelihood is she won't be able to perform one. Especially if you're a FTM. I've had 2 inductions at 37 weeks due to pre-eclampsia, but cervix has always been high, posterior and very much closed at the start of each induction.

@Dyra I have a 3 year old too. I thought they wouldn't even entertain the idea but at least I know now that it's not ridiculous of me to ask the question
