How soon after losing mucus plug...

Did you go into labour?

I'm 35+4 and felt a bit sick and crampy this morning. Went to the loo and pretty sure I lost my mucus plug. I'm not as prepared as I should be and I'm panicking that things may happen imminently now. How soon did things move for you after this?

We're moving your thread over to our Childbirth topic, OP - hopefully some Mumsnetters will be along soon but in the meantime, please contact your midwife.

We're just giving this thread a bump for the OP.

18 hours for me. Contractions didn’t start until about 12 hours after losing it. Hospital advise was to wear a pad and go in if there’s any hint of colour on it. Good luck! Mine was 36 +5 and didn’t stay in any longer than a full term

You say your pretty sure you lost your plug? How much of it did you lose? I've been loosing but clumps for weeks, not the full amount, it just keeps regenerating 😩 this started around 34 weeks and im now 38+ 3 and still no baby

Well now I've looked into it a bit I'm guessing it wasn't the whole thing but maybe just part of it. There was no bloody tinge or anything like that. And I haven't had any further pain or signs that labour is on the way. So I will probably lose gradually like you x

@stressyjess

Yeah that's how mine is, just little bits at a time but now it's happened everytime I go to the toilet but I have been loosing it a while, midwife said unless the full thing or bloody tinged not to worry it just forms back 😩

I was almost 39 weeks when I lost mine. It was a Saturday and I was convinced it had to mean something.. then I kept losing bits of it throughout the week. My waters broke the following Saturday and DS was born on the Sunday. So just over a week from first seeing plug to baby. Mine was never blood tinged either.
