C section advice please?

DS was born via c section due to being found breech at 38 weeks! He came out around 9lb 6oz! With my follow up appointments from professionals they stated it was probably a blessing in disguise as I would’ve struggled to get him out naturally (I’m quite petite) and most likely would’ve had a difficult time

I am 8 weeks pregnant with my 2nd child. We’re so excited but one thing I wondered is if my 2nd baby will be the same size or bigger?

My friend asked wether they’ll do my c section earlier due to having a ‘big baby’ previously but I’m sure they won’t do it before 39w unless baby needs to be out ASAP due to health reasons? She said they’d do it earlier for this though I’m just not sure!

Has anyone else ever been through this? do they really do your c section earlier due to babies size?

Generally, second babies are bigger.

DS1 was 9lbs 6oz but wasn't considered a 'big' baby apparently. I had an elective section with DS2 at 39 weeks as per guidelines and he was 9lbs 9oz.

I can't quite remember the weight that is considered a 'big' baby but DS1 didn't cut it. I'm confident that they won't section you early for that.

It's highly unlikely a doctor would agree to you having a section early for babies size alone. They often won't even induce you early for babies size and obviously the size can affect a vaginal delivery whereas it doesn't hold much bearing on a c-section. They'll likely book it at 39 weeks as is routine.

Thank you

I wouldn’t want to go earlier than 39 weeks as they say it’s 39weeks+ due to babies lung development, so when she said that it scared me I don’t care how big my babies are I would rather them be in for the right amount of time for them
