I know this sounds like a daft question but i am really worried that i wont be able to give my 2.6dd a cuddle for weeks.

I am aware that i will not be able to pick her up but if i sit on the floor and she stands in front of me or she came up on the settee could we have a cuddle without me pulling my stiches?

Sorry for sounding dim

You will be able to cuddle her pperfectly well. You may just be a bit wary about getting an elbow in the stomach.

Yes you'll be able to hug her fine. You're right about picking her up, and she'll need to try to be gentle with you at first, but definitely you can cuddle, don't worry.

You'll get round it. My DS used to stand on the footstool while I sat in the chair and he could reach his arms round my neck/shoulders, whilst avoiding the lower stomach.

You'll be fine. Get her to sit next to you on the settee and cuddle that way. Just tell her to be gentle with mummy.

ds was 2.11y when i had a c-section with dd. i managed loads of cuddles, i'm sure you'll be fine.

does your dd know what to expect? we had talked lots about the baby coming and being gentle with mummy, but what freaked ds out was when he first visited dd and i in hospital was seeing me in a hospital bed with a drip and a catheter and looking pretty poorly tbh - i realised that he wasn't prepared for how i'd look. he was afraid to come near me at all

yes-lots of cuddles!maybe but pillow over scar area just to make you feel bit safer.

DD was 23months when DS arrived & we had loads of cuddles - no problem

I explained to her that Mummy had a sore tummy & she had to be careful & bless her she was - in fact I probably got more kisses than normal "Mummy sore tummy - kiss better"
