Princess Royal Hospital, Haywards Health - maternity ward - experiences

Hi all,

I'm pregnant with my first and its still very early (6 weeks) but have contacted Princess Royal Hospital for my care, as its the closest Hospital to me.

Does anyone have experience of having their baby at this Hospital recently? I've heard from a few friends that it's been ok but not had loads of feedback.

Had my second by ELCS there 3 weeks ago, and couldn't fault them, and the actual birth was a wonderful experience. Staff were all wonderful, kind and compassionate. Yes they were extremely busy, but buzzer was always answered promptly.

Only criticism was visiting arrangements being split into 2 slots - 9-3 or 4-10pm. After a long night alone, the day seemed harder and even longer having to wait until 4pm for my husband to come in.

Just to clarify re visiting, that what bed you were in decided which visiting slot you get. You can express a preference but they can only give you a choice if more than one bed available.
