33/34 weeks and constant Braxton Hicks -- normal?

I'm about 33.5 weeks and just the last couple of days I am having loads of Braxton Hicks contractions, quite intense but uncomfortable rather than painful, but pretty relentless. Baby seems fine and is lively as normal. This is my third baby (after a bit of a gap) and though I definitely remember having them occasionally with my previous babies, I don't remember having a patch as intense as this at this stage. Did anyone have the same thing? Did the baby come early? DS1 and DS2 were both born just before (day or two before) 40 weeks, but I'm beginning to find it hard to believe I have another 6 weeks to go . . .

Nothing particularly helpful to add for you, but I'll be following with interest. I'm 34 weeks and haven't had a huge amount of BH but woke multiple times in the night last night with definite tightenings which then became uncomfortable, so will be keeping an eye on it!

Thanks for replying @Sprat12 ! I'm still getting them really a lot, and quite uncomfortable and intense. Find it a bit hard to believe I really still have 6 weeks to go but we'll see, maybe this is normal and I've just forgotten!

Hi did your baby end up arriving early? I’m currently experiencing the exact same thing

Moonicorn · 22/02/2023 19:55

I’m having loads, 34 weeks on Friday, I’m not worried and thought it was perfectly normal?!

Had them lots during my first pregnancy and ended up being induced at 40 weeks…

I even had them relentlessly on for hours, so unfortunately I don’t think it means anything.

im having them again now. This time also painful (upper abdomen and sometimes lower pelvis). The midwife said this is also Brixton hicks (during my first pregnancy they weren’t painful just tightenings) or false starts. Indeed it has been a few days since and nothing. I’m afraid I have another long slog till 40.

Check what you eat and drink. Something may trigger them. I had couple days with loads of them plus back ache, then stopped.
