Pain around c section scar when peeing - is this normal?

Hi everyone,

I had a C-section 8 days ago.

I was released from the hospital two days after the section.

I have no midwife visiting me at home because they have "staffing issues" at the moment.

I had an appointment on Saturday with the baby in the hospital and a midwife checked baby over.

I asked her if they were going to check my scar and she said "no, but if there are specific problems, call triage in the hospital you're given birth in"

I don't have obvious problems, but everytime I go to the toilet to pee the C-section scar and the area around it hurts a lot.

It's not an UTI - I have had those before and they feel different.

Is it normal to feel pain in and around the scar while peeing?

Would be grateful for any advice xx

I had pain in and around the scar for a long time, it did hurt to wee, I think it was the muscles pushing in.
How does the scar look , is it healing well ? Did you have dissolving stitches ?

I had a c section in December and have had similar staffing issues - I wouldn’t say the pain sounds normal, I’d go get it checked out just incase. I’m sure pain or discomfort while peeing was one of the warning signs they checked me for.

Thanks for your reply. The scar is healing well. I think the stitches are dissolving.

How long did the peeing pain last for you?

Thanks, I will call the hospital later. I hope I won't be fobbed off
