Numb area above c section scar very sensitive

I had a c section 10 days ago. All healing well and I feel great.

The skin above my scar is numb, which I know is normal but it is sooo sensitive at the same time. When my t shirt brushes against this area of skin it makes me physically cringe even though it's numb? I really can't explain it.

Did anyone else have this?

Mine is like that and has been for five years. You just have to live with it unfortunately.

It will improve, it’s very early days yet. But it will feel odd for a long time im afraid, scar tissue is a funny thing. You will get used to it.

Yes mine was like that too and it took a couple of months for the tingling/numbness feeling to completely go away.

Yes mine was like that too. Try and move past it and do some scar manipulation if you’re able to, it will help it remain flat

Totally normal and the more you massage it, the more it will improve

Just her some oil (olive oil is fine) and try and do a few mins of massage on the area once or twice a day

Thanks everyone. It's reassuring to hear it's normal, hopefully it doesn't last too long as any light touch to that area is unbearable!

Also, when can I start the massage in that area? I'm guessing it's too early yet.

Yes I remember mine being exactly like that op. I think I started massage when the wound had healed up, probably around the 6 week mark. I used bio oil as had a load left over.

Mines like that too 5 weeks on and seems to come and go at random. It's like the area from just below my belly button to just above my scar is hypersensitive and feels bruised/sunburnt almost, but numb at the same time. I was told it's broken nerves firing off in the area trying to heal themselves. Uncomfortable!
