Bleeding again 8 weeks after C-section (TMI warning, no pics)

Hi everyone,
I had an emergency c-section just under 8 weeks ago on 21/12/21, I then stopped bleeding around 2 weeks ago but carried on getting thick, whiteish- yellowish mucus discharge so carried on wearing a pad! This calmed down about a week ago and I wasn't wearing any pads etc anymore, but yesterday morning I started bleeding fresh red blood again and it has become quite heavy.. It is exactly like my bleeding straight after the section. Is this normal? I don't think it's my first period, as normally I get period pains and brownish stuff before red blood, but I suppose it could be different because its my first one since having a baby? Has anyone stopped bleeding and started again and have any advice for me please?

I had 3 c sections and each time my period started exactly 2 weeks after my bleeding stopped. So it could be your period but if you are concerned definitely get it checked out.

@Thesearmsofmine sorry if this is too personal🤣 but can you remember if you had fresh red blood straight away with your first periods? That's the only thing that's throwing me, because normally I don't x

I really can’t remember unfortunately, my youngest is 5 so it was a while ago now! If it isn’t normal for you, please do get checked out, I am sure it is fine but it’s always worth getting advice from a professional.

Yeah I agree it's probably your period. I had mine exactly 4 weeks post section. Brutal! And yes it was red blood but then mine always start that way.

my periods came back exactly at 12 weeks I had stopped bleeding for 6 weeks. My first few periods were nothing like my pre baby periods
Second baby was a VBAC and I went 9 months without periods
