I am planning a home birth. Dc2 was a home birth and it was a great labour, so quick, unmedicated and completely different to DC1 who was a hospital birth. I didn't progress for 24 hours which I believe was due to the stress of the hospital environment and ended up with venthouse as I was so exhausted.
My one concern about the home birth is that since having Dc2 I have had to have a salpingectomy and believe I have a lot of adhesions from that surgery to the bowel and bladder. I'm wondering if this makes the home birth more risky? The midwife doesn't think it is anything to worry about but I still worry about the small chance statistically of complications because my nearest hospital is 40 minutes away.
Has anybody had a scar rupture after uterine surgery? Or had labour or childbirth complications related to adhesions? I read this is a possibility after a salpingectomy, not just after a c section. Baby has implanted on the side of the salpingectomy so I am a bit concerned about that too. I also have chronic pain on that side, especially after bending forward, which I assume is scar tissue related.
