Elective C section - Guys, Chelsea and Westminster or Kings?

Hello, I am 5 weeks pregnant, live in SW London and know I will be asking for an ELCS.

I need to self refer to one of the hospitals, I’m about equal distance travel time from Guys, Chelsea and Westminster and Kings.

One of the reasons I’m going to have an ELCS is anxiety so I’m really keen to get this right, does anyone have any insight unit which hospital is best for a C section?

Thanks so much!

Hi! My friend moved from kings to Chelsea and felt much better supported with her choice for elective c section for anxiety. Obviously that's just one persons experience but she really liked Chelsea. Are you going to be asking on the nhs or private? I think privately it doesn't really matter which hospital. But from her experience Chelsea was better

I moved from Kings to St Thomas in last pregnancy after an awful experience with a midwife (a one off I’m sure). This time I will be having elcs at St Thomas again.

C&WM very well thought of in my experience

Thank you all for your replies! I have got the impression that C&W is well thought of, but didn’t know if that was just the private side. I’d be going NHS.

Guy’s doesn’t have maternity.

The service is at ST Thomas’s which is part of the same trust but a very separate hospital.

Oh thank you @MauveMavis! Very much at the start of working out what’s what, I’ve been to various appointments at Guys and St Thomas’ and never been clear.
