Can any of you ladies help..am 40+3 and have been getting sharp pains under my bump but only on right side. Pains are coming and going closly together but not sure if contractions as are so localised. Anyone else experience these or know what they might be?

Sounds like right ligament pain (if it's more to the side). If it's right under, then probably due to cervical dilation, especially at your stage.

round ligament pain, not right.

when both my labours started the pain was very one sided - later it spread but was much worse on one side for the whole thing.

Is this your first labour? If you're concerned, I think you should call your midwife I'm sure she won't mind at all.

Good luck

Thanks for such quick response..feeling like an idiot Coby as this will be my third labour and still facing the is it/isnt it dilemma.

Would be wonderful if due to cervical dilation...pain immediately becoming more bearable if thinking of it in those terms.

Think will try timing pains and if not gone after a warm bath will call hospital midwives.

Ha! This will be me in May next year (if all goes well) - it will be my third labour too but I've got a feeling this one will be 'different'.

Hope all goes well, keep us updated

Yep..still here...all pains subsided after few hours. Having seen due date come and go..am finally resigning myself to having third overdue baby.

On positive side am feeling more and more rested as each day of post-Crimbo rush passes. Do not know why am really so impatient for baby to arrive as know I should be savouring these days of lounging around etc.

Congrats Coby..a Spring Baby is perfectly timed. I think that the most ideal time of year but never managed it.
