Arnica 2 years old - still ok?

I bought some arnica tablets in March 2006 for the birth of my daughter (in May.) I am due to give birth again in March 2008. Will the opened bottle be ok to use again? Or should I buy a fresh supply?

Any advice gratefully appreciated

What is the use by date?

WinkyGirl · 29/12/2007 20:01

[Snorts with embarrassment...] hadn't thought of actually looking at the bottle. I will pull out all my old labour bag stuff tomorrow and have a look.

If theres no date I'll just reorder some.

You can tell I'm pregnant!

my homeopath said that use by dates on this stuff were nonsense and that you should just get on and use it, i have with no ill effects

I'd use it anyway - it's expensive stuff, and in theory the age shouldn't affect the way it works

I think as long as its been kept out of direct sunlight, and away from strong smells then it is ok pretty much forever.

WinkyGirl · 30/12/2007 12:21

Thanks everyone. I will use them then as there are alot left and they have been kept in a dark cupboard.

It wont cause any ill effects as they dont go off, but they do weaken over time so they might not work as well. It might be worth getting some more.
Hope all goes well with the birth
