I had an elective section 3 weeks ago. I took my prescribed painkillers for the 1p day period and have been using paracetemol/ ibuprofen as needed since. I am still having quite a bit of pain if I don't use painkillers- is this to be expected? No signs of fever or bleeding/ oozing from the wound.

You should check in with you MW. She will be able to give better advice.

How easy have you taken it? Recovery for my first was much slower because I pushed myself too hard.

Check with midwife but yeah I was in pain for several weeks. It’s a major surgery, you need to take things easy. I barely left the house the first few weeks.

What kind of pain? I had a c sec 3 weeks ago this coming Monday- I’m in no pain but I think if you are having gas pains or muscular pains that’s normal and no concern but if you’re having soreness around the scar perhaps get it checked? The pain I had for the longest was a pulling on the inside of the scar, On one end- it was the stitches on the inside just where they knot them off, apparently this is normal to have some tenderness there for a while. I’ve taken ibuprofen and/or paracetamol every day up until about day 15 for discomfort but last few days much better Xo

The pain were cramp like and soon after this post I had a huge gush of blood loss. I called the midwife and they said as a one off they wouldnt be concerned but if it happens again I am to go to the hospital to be checked over. I strangely feel better now that it has happened. The cramps have went away.

Hoping that's the end of it Confused. I had very minimal blood loss after the surgery so maybe it was just a matter of time. Worrying all the same.

If it’s like period pain cramps it could be your uterus contracting back rather than in relation to the caesarean. I think some people have horrendous gas pains after c section too. Deffo follow their advice and if it doesn’t stop go and get checked out xxx
